Holiday Assistance to Families in Need in Lower Bucks
The Lower Bucks Family YMCA Giving Tree joined with The Ivins Outreach Center and the Morrisville Presbyterian Church Angel Tree this year to provide holiday assistance to families in need in Lower Bucks County. Our families came predominately from Bristol Township, Bristol Borough, Bensalem, Morrisville, Levittown, Fairless Hills, Tullytown and through referrals from local agencies and area social workers.
We thank Morrisville School Board President, Damon Miller, who allowed our program full use of the closed Manor Park Elementary School in Morrisville. This allowed the program to grow and serve 309 families with 767 children with holiday toys, gifts and gift cards.
We thank Wayne Haller of W.H.S. Inc. who kicked off the program with his generous donation, The United Way of Bucks County for their kind donation of 180 gift cards designated for teens, and the 30 volunteers who gave countless hours of their time.
We are grateful to Bunzl Philadelphia who not only adopted children but donated cases of trash bags needed to bag toys for family pick-up.
We thank Don Simms of Stadium Bar and Grill and the parents and kids of Fairless Hills Softball Association who held toy drives and donated several hundred toys to our program.

Driving Away the Cold – New Winter Coats to Area Children
The Ivins Outreach Center in partnership with the Lower Bucks Family YMCA and Driving Away the Cold distributed 500 new winter coats this year to children in Morrisville and surrounding communities. Driving Away the Cold is a signature program of the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation and Operation Warm. It’s a unique program with the simple mission of giving new coats to underprivileged children who would otherwise not have them. The gift of a new coat warms the body and soul of a child in need. It can supercharge the recipient’s self-esteem and helps him or her to arrive to school warm, ready to learn and it reminds that child that he or she is important.
Driving Away the Cold relies on area YMCAs and non-profit organizations selected by participating dealerships to help get the new coats to local children who need them most. The Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation is especially grateful for its strong relationship with Operation Warm, a Pennsylvania non-profit that supplies of the Driving Away the Cold coats that The Ivins Outreach Center has received each year for the past eight years.
Thank you to the ladies of the Oxford Valley Knitting and Crochet Circle for their generous donation of warm winter hats for local school children in need! We are so appreciative of the over 30 hand-made hats that you lovingly stitched!
The Ivins Outreach Center, being an outreach, resource and referral center, often partners with other community organizations, hospitals and social service organizations to bring to access to services and programs to our local community.
